STABLES THEATRE COUNCIL of MANAGEMENT 2026-2027
Current members: (Following AGM held on 30/3/26)
As chair of the Stables Theatre my primary role is to lead the Board of Trustees and Council of Management, to ensure the organisation delivers on its charitable objectives and maintains good governance. The role is largely strategic and acting as a critical bridge between the council, volunteers and productions/ events within the theatre.
My duties as Hon. Secretary consist of organising meetings (Management Council and Annual General Meeting), attending to paperwork etc. etc. I take notes and produce and distribute the relevant Minutes. I also deal with sundry correspondence and actions that need taking and other odd jobs that I am asked to do towards the running of the Theatre…..ask me and I am always willing to help!
I have been involved with the Stables for many years in various departments and am very happy to be able to contribute to the running of this wonderful little theatre.
As Honorary Treasurer it is my duty to oversee the financial health of the Stables Trust Ltd.
My core responsibilities include safeguarding funds, maintaining the financial records, advising the committee on financial strategies, and ensuring statutory compliance with both Companies House and the Charity Commission.
As a Council Member & Trustee working to ensure good governance of the theatre.
I have the responsibility of overseeing our Box Office operations. Also providing effective communication with our patrons through upkeep of our website and as editor of our regular email STAGED @ Stables Theatre.
I am a retired solicitor.
I first appeared on the Stables stage when I was 14. I have been a member since 1973.
I give advice on legal and procedural issues when asked.
I started volunteering at The Stables Theatre bar circa 2009.
A few years later I joined the Bar Committee and gradually took over such duties as the volunteers’ rota, ordering bar stocks and training new volunteers.
Having trained for the licence in 2012, I now represent the theatre as Designated Personal Licence Holder. I enjoy meeting and encouraging new people to join our team.
My role is to support our brilliant Stables volunteers and recruit new volunteers across the theatre.
Co-ordinating events, training, onboarding and safeguarding. Also, liaising with new productions to ensure smooth Front of House operations.
Elections to the Council take place at our Annual General Meetings in March, so if you’d like to be nominated, look out for the information published here in early spring.
All paid-up members are welcome to attend our AGMs, – but there are conditions on your voting rights for new members.
