NOMINATE YOUR “FEMALE HEROES” HERE
A social gathering with wine and cheese, on Thursday 5th June at 19:00, will open the festival, revealing the “Female Heroes’” winning nominations, followed by performances of ‘Cagebirds’, directed by Vanessa Coatz, and ‘White Lead’ directed by Jane Midwinter. These one act plays explore themes of stereotypes and oppression and the expectations and responsibilities of being an artist and a woman.
Workshops for all, will be led by local female creatives, and run throughout the festival. They include script-writing, poetry, improvisation, themed storytelling, art, song-writing, voice, dance, drama, and playful connection and spontaneity through clowning!
Along with these workshops will be a number of one night performances plays, play reading, music and song. Details and booking information for both workshops & performances will be published on the Stables Website and social media platforms.
Work generated throughout the festival will be showcased in a final presentation on Saturday 21st June.
