An Evening With Gerald Lloyd Davies – An Aspiring National Treasure By Laurie Stevens

Director – Len Gwyn (aka Len Blanco).

Dramaturg – Annie Siddons.

Aspiring national treasure and quintessential luvvie Gerald Lloyd-Davies amuses the audience (and himself) in a comprehensive career retrospective, from his humble beginnings in Ebbw Vale to his turn as an ageing Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Never Too Late.

But when confronted with an inconvenient opinion about his past, Gerald must adapt in order to secure his future. Can he do so before the curtain falls?  Through both parody and pathos, An Evening with Gerald Lloyd-Davies looks at when yesterday’s progressive becomes today’s regressive.

The show is being presented by Makers’ House Hastings as part of their Ace the Fringe series, where shows destined for the Edinburgh Fringe are polished and previewed in Hastings before a live audience.

Laurie Stevens’s theatre debut follows her hit character show David’s One-Man Band:

‘gleefully funny’ **** (Everything Theatre)

‘evocative…well-written…nails something universal’ **** (List)

‘so relatable’ **** (Lothian Life)

‘touching’ **** (ThreeWeeks).

Approximate run time (no interval) – 60 minutes.
