This Happened Two Plays About Real Life

A Dublin Story – After a break-up and a move back home, Cat is out in Dublin for one big night, the kind that might change everything. Between lost friends, found cigarettes, and a handsome busker, the city hums with possibility. A Dublin Story blends storytelling,  music, and audience participation, this autobiographical piece captures the humour, heartbreak, and hope of starting over. A funny, tender, and luminous story about love, chance encounters, and the glow of something new.

Helen Black is a storyteller, teacher, and theatre maker. She has performed her writing at events including The Moth,Shambala Festival, andSeanoiche, and hosts Story Club at Hastings Writers Workshop. In 2018, she took her solo storytelling show to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. At The Stables Theatre, Helen has appeared in “Home I’m Darling” and “First Bus to Ballinabeg”, and directed “Every Brilliant Thing” in 2023. She is currently performing a new writing piece, A Dublin Story— a work-in-progress that was previewed earlier this year at the Itch That Scratch night with Hastings Theatre Project.

Unravelling Twins – Written by Anna and Georgina Lewis.

Unravelling Twins – The trouble with most stories about twins is that usually the twins have to be really weird. Or one of them has to die. Unravelling Twins – Anna and Georgina, identical twins, know that this premise is unfair and ridiculous because real life is actually much more boring… isn’t it? Told through letters, reenactments of hospital appointments and the healing power of 80s pop, this their story of twins. Unravelling.

Anna and George, first time playwrights, long time letter writers, are on an endless mission to find humour in the small wins, the mundane, and the darker moments of life. Building on previous performances of speeches at weddings, birthdays, and the odd overly elaborate work presentation that nobody asked for, they would like to share their latest creative endeavour with you.

Approximate running time including interval – 95 minutes.
