Introduction To Playwriting
6 fortnightly sessions of about 1.5 hours each on Fridays, 11.00am – 12.30pm.
Week commencing 1st May to week commencing 10th July.
Maximum 15 participants.
Following a one off scriptwriting workshop led by Katie Duncan last summer, Introduction to Playwriting is a new six-session course for anyone curious about writing for theatre, whether you’re completely new to playwriting or returning to an idea you’ve been carrying around for a while.
In a relaxed and supportive setting, participants will explore the essentials of dramatic writing — character, conflict, dialogue, structure and scene — while beginning to develop their own short play.
The course ends with an opportunity to share extracts and reflect on how to keep going with the work afterwards.
