In Workshop 1 on 26thJuly, join Clare Kersley, artist and musculoskeletal practitioner, for a detailed insight into the structure, appearance and movements of the human shoulder, arm and elbow. Clare has over 25 years’ experience as an osteopath and massage therapist and is excited to share her knowledge and experience with fellow creatives. This will be a supportive, small group format and no prior anatomical knowledge is required. The Shoulder, Arm and Elbow is the first in a new series.

Each workshop will look in detail at a different area of the body to build your knowledge and help you:
– Recognise key anatomical landmarks in the clothed and unclothed body.– Appreciate how bones, joints, muscles, tendons and blood vessels create contours, shapes, lines and angles.– Understand joint ranges of motion and how movement affects appearance.– Observe and analyse how different fabrics drape on the human form.– Understand how posture and other factors influence fabric tension, generate creases, and create shape and flow.–  Better express emotion and narrative in your representation of the human form.

Please note that although there will be lots of sketching opportunities during the day, this is not a drawing technique workshop.Look out for other workshops in the series, including:The Forearm, Wrist and Hand– coming soon!Age
