Who Killed Cornelius Cardew?

THURSDAY 8 AUGUST at 7.00pm IN THE ART GALLERY

Who Killed Cornelius Cardew?

Cornelius Cardew was one of the most important English composers of the 1960s avant-garde era. He is known for his intricate graphic scores, many of which qualify as artworks in their own right.

In later life, he joined the Communist Party, devoting his musical energy to works promoting his political beliefs. Age 45, Cardew was mysteriously killed — many suspecting MI5 involvement.

After last year’s sell out show, Amusia Productions tells Cardew’s life story through electroacoustic performances of his seminal works with accompanying projections of his scores. The audience can interact with the music via installations based on Cardew’s designs.
