West-End Dance Workshop For Children

10am – 1pm, Duration 3 hours 18 Places

Have you ever dreamed of performing on stage?

Have you ever wondered what it takes to perform in an ensemble?

Would you like to know how dancers make it to the West-end stage?

If so, please come to our WEST- END DANCE WORKSHOP!

The Stables Theatre presents its second Musical Theatre Workshop led by professional dancer, teacher and choreographer Melissa Hunte.

Melissa trained at London Studio Centre and has performed in the original London cast of Wicked, Bombay Dreams and the original German cast of Aida. She has extensive knowledge in Singing, Dancing and Acting on the West-end stage and would love others to experience the fun and joy it brings her when she performs!

The workshop will cost £30 and will last for 3 hours. It will begin with a technical warm up, which will then lead into learning songs and dance routines from well-known musicals. After that, the children will have performance time with constructive feedback and a gentle cool-down and stretch at the end.

In between, the children will have improvisation time, where they will have the opportunity to bring their own ideas/moves and talent to choreograph their own routines should they wish to. After the workshop, the children will have the opportunity to perform the dances they have learnt to their families.

Children should bring water and a snack and come in active clothing, comfortable footwear or bare feet (which is preferable). If your child has long hair, please make sure they tie it up before the workshop commences. If your child has any medical conditions ie Asthma, please ensure you bring their medication to the workshop and any injuries should also be mentioned before the workshop.

Melissa loves teaching dance and has taught in many schools across the UK. Her aim is to offer children and adults a fun way to unlock their passion for dance, as she believes that dancing equals positive well-being.

We can’t wait to see you!
