The Stables Theatre is proud to launch its annual Writing Competition for 2023.

Our international competition is now in its 4th year and we are looking for new, undiscovered plays for our competition.

The prize, if you win, is a full performance and run of your show at the Stables Theatre in Hastings in 2025.

Rules and Considerations

It costs nothing to enter but all we ask is that you send a synopsis of your play of no more than 250 words as well as the full and completed script.

The play cannot have been performed previously and/or won another competition

We will shortlist and then announce our final winner by the beginning of January 2024.

If you have heard nothing by then you can assume you have not been successful.

Please keep in mind that the play needs to be staged at The Stables Theatre which is a small theatre. Therefore cast sizes and technical requirements need to be appropriate.

Simplicity is the key.
