Shelf Life
By Jessie Lockie
1066 Youth Theatre
‘Every moment we live, once given away, becomes a story.’
A compelling tale of a teenage girl and hidden secrets.
When Kara meets a mysterious stranger in a magical library, her rapidly changing world is revealed. Through a series of interweaving stories and extraordinary characters, Shelf Life takes the audience on an unforgettable theatrical journey.
A moving exploration of grief and hope. Comic and poignant stories of fantasy and adventure, of love, loss – and everything in between.
This year’s project is a new play by Jessie Lockie. Jessie is a scriptwriting MA graduate from the University of East Anglia. She has had her work performed at the Stables Theatre (Song To The Siren) and Hackney Den (Anthroplay). Jessie works in publishing and supports young people with playwriting, reading projects and drama workshops.
1066 Youth Theatre is a summer project for 14-19 year olds.
Vibrant, versatile storytelling incorporating a range of genre and theatre styles.
Directed by Niall Whitehead and Barbara Ward
We are looking forward to working with young people from across Hastings and Rother for a theatre summer project like no other.
