Self-Portraiture Photography

This 2 hour workshop will explore the theme of self-portraiture through the medium of photography.

The way we show up in the world as individuals is so often a shadow of who we are; the person we’ve needed to become in order to be deemed ‘acceptable’. Add in inherited & societal pressures, shame around our physicality, alongside the stories we tell ourselves about beauty and worth, and it’s not surprising that we end up with so many hang-ups around seeing images of ourselves.

What if we can change that narrative?

Join photographer & creative facilitator, Rachel Kiley, supported by sound artist, Dave Hart, in a safe space of curiosity, fun, challenge and creativity, as together we ask ourselves who we really are and how, (using our cameras as our paintbrush), we can create reflections of our true likeness.

Rachel will gently guide us through the elements of this workshop, with Dave responding throughout with reflective musical improvisation before ending our journey together with a deeply relaxing musical soundscape, for participants to reflect on the images of self they have created.

Please bring a willingness to dig deep, playfulness, a camera (smartphones welcome!) and a couple of items of clothes/accessories that best reflect you!
