STABLES Theatre Director’s Pitch Meeting for 2023 Season

Friday 26-August at 7:30pm at Stables bar

Are you a director with a passion to direct a specific play at the Stables in 2023?
Then you are invited to attend this meeting, where you will get to propose a play to the Stables
Programme Advisory Group (PAG) in person. This is your chance to tell us about the play and why you think you would be the best person to direct it.

The evening will be broken into two parts. The first part wiWll be the formal presentations.
Each director will get 2-3 minutes to propose their play. Then after all presentations we will start the
second part of the evening, where you will have a chance to mingle with PAG members in an informal
way and allow them to ask you questions about yourself (if we don’t already know you) and/or your
play proposal.

The bar will be open and we want to keep it a light and fun evening for all.

If you are a director but you don’t have a specific play in mind to propose to us, that’s fine – come along
anyway. We also welcome members to suggest a play that they don’t want to direct but which they
would like to see performed at the Stables in 2023. (Although please be aware that plays with specific
directors attached to them will have a much better chance of getting chosen.)

Now the details:

– Directors may propose up to 2 plays maximum.

– If you do propose 2 plays, please let us know which one is your 1 st choice.

– Only 2-3 minutes allowed per play proposal. You will be cut off after 3 minutes.
But don’t worry – you can talk about the play in much more detail to individual PAG members
during the informal part of the evening.

– Please bring at least 1 copy of the play with you to loan to PAG.
If it’s an unknown/obscure play then bring more than 1 copy, if possible.
Have your name and contact info on each script you want returned to you.

– PAG will read, discuss and then vote on each play proposal. We don’t have a specific time
table for making the decisions, so please be patient.
