Imagine, What A Wonderful World
Back in 2009 a group of friends got together to perform a concert in memory of two close friends (Sharon Guy Waller and Sandra Woodhams) who had sadly passed away. This was the beginning of The Renaissance Theatre Company. They have regularly performed musicals raising substantial sums for St Michaels Hospice and the Shazzie Sparkle Trust.
In 2022 Renaissance was devastated to suddenly lose its resident Director Mark Evans to cancer just prior to the Spring Production of Kander and Ebb’s “The Rink.” Later in the year Audrey Norcross who had been rehearsal pianist for Renaissance and countless other musical groups also succumbed to ill health and sadly passed away.
As a tribute to these stalwarts of the company, Renaissance will be performing concert versions of favourite songs from musicals at The Stables Theatre in the week up to 11thNovember (check website for details). The musicals chosen will be those which Mark so expertly directed, some we know he would have liked to direct had he been given the time, and some which Audrey knew and loved in her role as rehearsal pianist. As has been the case for all Renaissance productions the performances will benefit our chosen charities. Please come along and join us for an evening of high-quality entertainment in memory and tribute to two more very special and talented friends
