First Bus To Ballinabeg is a black comedy set in the far West of Ireland close to the border with the North. It has shades of Martin McDonagh mixed with Brian Friel. 

We’re casting several great character roles. The ability to carry a convincing Irish accent is desirable but a feel for the rhythm and musicality of spoken Irish is more important.

Don’t let lack of an accent put you off.

FINIAN – Son of the family. Late twenties. 

MADGE WOOD – Neighbour, the Priest’s Housekeeper. Late sixties.

MRS. REILLY – Village Zealot. Eighties, nineties, who knows? 

MAY – Youngest Daughter of the family. 

MALACHY PATTERSON – Local Boy made good. Mid thirties.

CONSTABLE GARVAN – Local Policeman. Early sixties.
