Everything’s A Song

Following his sell out show in 2023 with Gabriel Moreno troubadour Jason McNiff celebrates the release of his 9th album, ‘Everything’s a Song’, with a host of stellar local talent.

Jason McNiff, acclaimed singer songwriter and guitarist, launches his 9th album, ‘Everything’s a Song’, on the 2nd of June. The evening will be a veritable feast of songwriting, celebrating the elusive art that has captivated popular culture for over a century.  A host of UK based songwriters will showcase their best works and discuss the inspiration behind them. Among the performers will be Gabriel Moreno, poet and songwriter from Gibraltar, Alabama 3 collaborator, Brendan O’Connell, and Danny Horn, who starred as Ray Davies in the West End Kinks musical. Acclaimed husband and wife duo, Trevor Moss and Hannah Lou, round off the first half with their much loved folk harmony singing, before Jason and his band take to the stage for part 2, presenting the new album in full for the first time. A highly anticipated evening that is not to be missed.

JASON MCNIFF is a troubadour who has made eight albums which people call Folk, or Americana, or Alt. Country. There is an Englishness in his guitar playing however, and you might like to think of Bert Jansch or John Renbourn meeting John Prine & Townes Van Zandt. Time Out writes, ‘McNiffs quiet, intimate, fragile-sounding vocals draw you into his world, an almost timeless place, through which he drifts, a romantic loner, a dreamer, at home with the blues.’ He is often touted as one of the UKs most overlooked musical treasures, as a songwriter and fingerstyle guitarist. His 2021 album, ‘Dust of Yesterday’ was album of the week in The Times, with a 9th LP, ‘Everything’s a Song’, to be released on June 7th, 2024.

‘An Immense talent’ Janice Long, BBC Radio 2.
