Blue Remembered Hills
by Dennis Potter.
The title ‘Blue Remembered Hills’ is taken from ‘A Shropshire Lad’ written in 1896 by A.E. Houseman:
Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.
It is 1943 on a summer’s afternoon and seven children play in the fields and woods of old England. As stipulated by the author the children’s roles are all played by adult actors.
Presented by The Summer Theatre Company.
Directed by Peter Mould.
