It’s going to be Epic !

The greatest book ever penned will be brought to the stage by a towering team of just four actors turning The Stables Theatre into Ancient Rome complete with chariot races, sea battles and even a Roman orgy (suitable for all ages).

Ben Hur is a play of two worlds. The world of Daniel Veil’s play adapted from Lew Wallace’s celebrated nineteenth century tome Ben Hur and the world of Daniel’s Theatre Company who are battling the odds to put the play on.

Ben Hur is a comedy but for the show to work it must be performed with the utmost seriousness, all the actors should have the same intense confidence with playing not only the members of Daniel’s Theatre Company but the characters they are portraying within the play itself.

Ben Hur is the epic set to stir your very soul.

This production offers great opportunities for actors to portray many roles all within the one play. Did I mention this is going to be Epic?

With just four actors, rehearsals will be intense but fun and because of the fast pace and nature of the play be prepared to work off book by the first week of rehearsals.

We may well have a few read throughs prior to rehearsals starting in April,  just to get an idea of the play and the various characters.

This will be epic… and a lot of fun – I promise!

If anyone would like a get-together prior to the auditions, let me know and we can try and set a date.
